The ASID Texas Chapter Dallas and Fort Worth Design Communities invites Emerging* Interior Designers to their March Peer Group event hosted by ASID Industry Partner Kravet Inc. to spend the evening with the company's Chief Creative Director, Scott Kravet.

Founded by his great grandfather in the early 1900s, Scott is a member of the fourth generation to join the family business. This event focuses not only on how Kravet can help the emerging designer, but a discussion of Kravet's extensive library of archival fabrics, which he is bringing with him from New York.

As Chief Creative Director, Scott oversees all aspects of product development for Kravet Inc. and its brands. An alumnus of Emory University and the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science, he manages creative teams in five design studios in New York and worldwide. Scott has a near encyclopedic knowledge of textiles and he travels the globe sourcing products from the finest craftsmen and best mills.

Kravet Inc., established in 1918, is the premier resource and industry leader for home furnishings, available exclusively to the trade. Kravet Inc. has grown to offer fabrics, furniture, wallcoverings, trimmings, carpets and accessories. Continued commitment to innovation has helped the company transform from a small fabric house to a global leader, representing brands and designers from all over the world. Kravet Inc. owns Kravet, Lee Jofa, Brunschwig & Fils and GP & J Baker. Offerings also include an edited collection of unique, high-quality finished products for the home through CuratedKravet.

Organized by

The Dallas Design Community is one of five design communities that make up the ASID Texas Chapter, which is part of the larger American Society of Interior Designers [ASID], a community of people – designers, industry representatives, educators and students – committed to interior design. Through education, knowledge sharing and advocacy, the Society strives to advance the interior design profession and, in the process, to demonstrate and celebrate the power of design to positively impact and change people’s lives. Of the Society’s 24,000 Practitioners, 20% practice Residential design, 30% practice Commercial design, and 50% practice both. The ASID Texas Chapter represents 1,700+ Practitioner, Educator, Student and Industry Representative members (almost 1,100 of which are Practitioners and/or Educators) throughout the state of Texas excluding the greater Houston area, which is covered by the ASID Texas Gulf Coast Chapter. Since the Texas Chapter is quite large both in membership and in geographic expanse, most of the programming throughout the year takes place in the Design CommunitiesAustin, Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, and West Texas. Our members work in both the residential and commercial fields, either as sole proprietors or as part of small or large firms. Within the state and around the world, they provide valuable services and useful products to their clients. Our members strive to improve the quality of life for all of their clients through the creation of aesthetically pleasing, thoughtful design that takes into account the health, safety and welfare of the public.
